Rise Above and Shine
On behalf of the staff, I would like to thank you for your support
of our school – we really appreciate the ways that parents assist
us in providing for your child’s education. I personally would like to
thank the Board of Trustees for their extra contributions and the
staff for all they do for the children at Waihi East. We have a
wonderful school that I am so proud of. Next year will be a special
year for the school as we celebrate 100 years in February.
Best wishes to all for the holiday season and we will enjoy
seeing all the children next year.

Our East School team went on to play at the Ripper Rugby Finals day at Paeroa Domain on Wednesday 29th November. In the year 5/6 category in which we competed there were seven teams and we played four games, here’s our record.
It was a hard fought tournament, the two teams we drew with Parawai and Paeroa Central went on to compete in the final with Paeroa Central emerging victorious.
Our players gave it their all, two that get a special mention are Jordan S who was picked as the East School ‘Player of the Day’ and got a rugby ball as a prize. The other is Hannah who was outstanding with many strong runs that really took the opposition on.
