There is a disco tomorrow night (Wednesday) at the St. James Hall, Moresby Ave, Waihi, from 6.30-8.30pm. This is open to Waihi East School children and their siblings only. Any inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and parents will be phoned to collect any children that do not respect our rules. Wednesday night was chosen for the Disco, as here was no other night available for the Hall. Rm 5 & 8 children 6.30 – 7.30 [Juniors - being school night]; all other children 6.30 – 8.30pm. We ask that parents collect their children by 8.30pm. Parents are needed to help make this evening a success; if you are available tomorrow night, please either fill in the form below and return it to school tomorrow morning, or fill in the contact form on our news blog at http://blog.waihi-east.school.nz under the ’Disco’ heading or alternatively, phone Julie or Sharon in the office, 863 8693.

Thank you for showing interest in fundraising for a bus to transport students on the Snow Planet trip. A Murphy’s Bus has been organised. We are selling chocolates next week as our major fundraiser. Cell phones supplied by the Chocolate Company will be prizes for our top sellers. Nicky Pedlar [Tommy and Eliza Waters Mum] is our sales coordinator. She will be at our school 8.30 to 9.00am daily, collecting money and handing out additional supplies.

Hockey’s last day is Thursday 30th August.
MINIBALL
Miniball starts in Term 4 and will run on Friday afternoons for 5 weeks. Games will be held at the College Gym and the Waihi Beach Community centre. Interested children, please see Sharon or Heather.

Starlab presenter Gloria, told the children that there will be a Lunar Eclipse on Tuesday 28th August, beginning approximately 8.00pm to 1.00am and we will see the colour of the earth’s shadow. Next Lunar Eclipse 2010!
